Retail forex and CFD trading is legal in South Africa through brokers authorised by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA). The strongest brokers also hold an OTC Derivative Provider (ODP) licence under the Financial Markets Act, which lets them write CFDs onshore as principal.
